Friday, September 7: Remember the Celebrity Waiter Luncheon? Oh, sure you do. It was the one where poor Mike Modano‘s retirement press conference in the next ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton was quaked by the girls-gone-more-than-wild celebrants. 2011 chairs Maggie Cooke and Shay Geyer had so much, they’ve signed up again to chair the luncheon.
Only problem? They’ve got to top their 2011 gangbuster. But they’re already planning for the 2012 luncheon to be “bigger, better and twice the fun (if that is possible!).”
According to Maggie, they “have both ballrooms this year and are expanding the luncheon to 500 guests. Following last year’s wonderful success and high energy, guests should be properly warned that this is a loud, silly, FUN luncheon – everything is wacky except the purpose: raising funds for Dallas’ homeless families through Family Gateway.”
Just to prove their point, they’ve already signed up celebrity waiters D’Andra Simmons, LeeAnne Locken and Steve Kemble, who led the crowd in the Village Peoples’ “YMCA.”
Unfortunately, it’s doubtful that waiter vet Kim Fischer will be back. She just landed an anchor job in Salt Lake City.
